Swooping

“Swooping” 指沿弧线快速俯冲后掠起,如 an eagle swooping down on its prey(老鹰俯冲捕食)或 a plane swooping low over the field(飞机低空掠过田野)。

  1. “The hawk went swooping over the meadow at dusk.”
  2. “She came swooping into the room with armfuls of groceries.”
  3. “Prices came swooping down after the holiday sale ended.”

词干 swoop(动词/名词,俯冲、猛扑)+ “-ing” 表示正在进行的俯冲或骤然行动。

  • 固定搭配: “swooping down” (俯冲而下), “swooping in” (突然介入)
  • 原形: swoop
  • 名词: swoop
  • 习语: at one fell swoop (一举)

“A drone went swooping over the vineyard while the manager came swooping in with a fix for the irrigation bug.”
