Shimmying

“Shimmying” 可指跳舞时肩膀或上身快速左右摇摆(shimmy dance);也可指侧身挤过狭窄缝隙,如 shimmying through a gap in the fence(从篱笆缝里侧身挤过去)或 shimmying down a rope(沿绳子滑下)。

  1. “She was shimmying across the dance floor to the jazz beat.”
  2. “He shimmyied between the parked cars to catch the bus.”
  3. “The toddler shimmyied out of his high chair when no one was looking.”

  • 固定搭配: “shimmy through” (侧身挤过), “do a shimmy” (扭一下)

“She went shimmying through the crowd while the band kept shimmying through the encore.”
