Shimmying
“Shimmying” 可指跳舞时肩膀或上身快速左右摇摆(shimmy dance);也可指侧身挤过狭窄缝隙,如 shimmying through a gap in the fence(从篱笆缝里侧身挤过去)或 shimmying down a rope(沿绳子滑下)。
- “She was shimmying across the dance floor to the jazz beat.”
- “He shimmyied between the parked cars to catch the bus.”
- “The toddler shimmyied out of his high chair when no one was looking.”
- 固定搭配: “shimmy through” (侧身挤过), “do a shimmy” (扭一下)
“She went shimmying through the crowd while the band kept shimmying through the encore.”
