Seasoning

  1. “Taste the sauce before seasoning it with more salt.”
  2. “She keeps her favorite seasoning in a jar by the stove.”
  3. “He is seasoning a cast-iron skillet for the first time.”

词干 season(动词,调味;名词,季节/调料)+ “-ing” 表示调味动作或调料这一类别。

菜谱中 seasoning to taste(按口味调味)是标准用语;美式料理常区分 seasoning(混合香料)与 fresh herbs(新鲜香草)。

  • 名词: seasoning(调料), season(季节)

“While seasoning the stew, she realized the cast-iron pan still needed seasoning before Sunday brunch.”
