Seasoning
“Seasoning” 作动词进行时指往食物里加盐、胡椒、香料等，如 seasoning the soup（给汤调味）；作名词指调味料本身，如 herbs and seasoning（香草与调料）。亦指木材、铁锅等的“养护、熟成”过程。

菜谱中 seasoning to taste（按口味调味）是标准用语；美式料理常区分 seasoning（混合香料）与 fresh herbs（新鲜香草）。
