Pendant
“Pendant”是名词，指悬挂在项链、耳环等饰品上的垂饰或挂件；在建筑中也可指从天花板垂下的装饰物；还可指与另一物配套或对称的附属物。
- “She wore a silver necklace with a heart-shaped pendant.” (她戴着一条心形吊坠的银项链。)
- “The chandelier had crystal pendants that caught the light.” (吊灯上有水晶垂饰，折射出光芒。)
- “This painting is the pendant to the one in the main gallery.” (这幅画是主展厅那幅画的配套作品。)
“Pendant”源自拉丁语”pendere”（悬挂），与”pendulum”（钟摆）、“suspend”（悬挂）同源，核心含义是”悬垂之物”。
“Pendant”没有前缀和后缀，为拉丁语借词。
垂饰（pendant）在欧美珠宝文化中极为常见，材质从宝石到金属各异，常承载纪念或情感意义；在建筑语境中，pendant 指吊灯或装饰性悬挂构件。

“pend”让人想到”pendulum”（钟摆）——都是悬垂下来的东西，pendant 就是挂在身上的垂饰。
