Partiality

“Partiality” 是名词,主要指“偏心、偏袒”,即对某方不公平地偏爱,如 “show partiality toward a student”(偏袒某学生);亦指“特别的喜爱”,如 “partiality for chocolate”(对巧克力的偏爱)。

  1. “The judge was removed for showing partiality toward the defendant.”
  2. “She has a partiality for vintage jazz records.”
  3. “Any partiality in grading undermines trust in the exam.”

  • 固定搭配: “show partiality” (表现出偏心), “partiality for” (对……

“The coach denied any partiality, though parents whispered that star players got more playing time.”
