Opportune
“Opportune” 形容时机“恰当的、适时的、有利的”，比 timely 更偏正式。常与 moment、time、arrival 搭配，如 an opportune moment to ask（开口的好时机）。反义 inopportune 表示“不合时宜的”。
- “Her arrival was opportune; we needed her signature immediately.” (她来得正是时候，我们急需她签字。)
- “He waited for an opportune moment to raise the pay issue.” (他等待合适时机再提加薪的事。)

源自拉丁语 opportunus（合宜的），由 ob-（朝向）与 portus（港口）组合，原义“顺风入港、便利”，引申为“时机正好”。
“op-” 在此为 ob- 的变体，表“朝向”；“-tune” 与 port（港口、通道）相关，整体强调“恰逢其会、顺水推舟”。
外交、商业谈判与文学叙述中常用 opportune 渲染“天赐良机”；新闻标题亦常见 an opportune visit（时机恰到好处的访问）。
