Oldest

“Oldest”用于三者及以上比较,强调年龄或历史最久。既可指人,也可指物。

  1. “She is the oldest child in the family.” (她是家里最大的孩子。)
  2. “This is the oldest building in town.” (这是镇上最古老的建筑。)
  3. “Who is the oldest member on your team?” (你们团队里谁最年长?)

来自古英语”eald”,基本义为“年老的、旧的”。

由形容词”old”加最高级后缀”-est”构成。

家族语境里常说”the oldest son/daughter”,表示长子/长女。
