Marinating

“Marinating” 指把肉类、海鲜或蔬菜浸泡在 marinade(腌料)中,使其入味、变嫩,如 marinating chicken overnight(鸡肉腌一夜)。是烹饪中的常见步骤。

  1. “She is marinating the beef for at least four hours.” (她要把牛肉至少腌四个小时。)
  2. “Marinating the tofu first makes it much more flavorful.” (先把豆腐腌一下会好吃很多。)

“Marinating” 来自 “marinate”,源于意大利/法语 marinade(腌汁),与 marine(海的)有 distant 联系——早期腌料常含 brine(盐水)或 sea-related 成分。

“-ate” 为动词后缀;“-ing” 表示现在进行;词干与 marinade(名词,腌料)成对出现。

在烧烤、亚洲料理和西餐食谱中,“marinating” 是核心步骤;常见搭配 overnight marinating、marinating time(腌制时长)。
