Mannerism
Mannerism
- “He has an annoying mannerism of tapping his pen during meetings.”
- “The actor captured all the unique mannerisms of the famous politician.”
- “Some critics complained that the author’s writing was full of affected mannerisms.”
Manner(举止)+ -ism(名词后缀)。
The spy was perfect at changing his face, but he couldn’t hide one small mannerism. Every time he told a lie, he would pull his left earlobe. He didn’t even know he did it. But the detective noticed this tiny mannerism, and that was how the secret agent was finally caught.
