Maladroit

  1. “His maladroit handling of the situation only made things worse.”
  2. “The waiter was so maladroit that he spilled soup on three different guests.”
  3. “She felt maladroit and out of place at the high-society party.”

The young diplomat was very smart, but he was maladroit with his hands. During a very important dinner with the king, he tried to cut his steak but accidentally sent it flying into the king’s lap. His maladroit move almost started a war, but luckily, the king had a good sense of humor and just laughed.
