Lust

Lust 指一种极度强烈的欲望。

  1. 性欲: 对性的强烈渴望。
  2. 一般欲望: 对权力、金钱、知识或旅行的强烈渴求(如 a lust for power)。
  1. “His lust for power eventually led to his downfall.” (他对权力的贪欲最终导致了他的垮台。)
  2. “It wasn’t love; it was just pure lust.” (那不是爱,那纯粹是肉欲。)
  3. “She has a real lust for life, always seeking new adventures.” (她对生活充满热爱/极强的欲望,总是在寻求新的冒险。)
  • 源自古英语 lust,意为“欲望、快乐、愉悦”。在德语中 Lust 仍然有“兴趣、乐意”的意思,但在英语中演变得更具压倒性和负面性。

在基督教传统中,lust 是“七宗罪”(Seven Deadly Sins)之一,被视为一种邪恶的冲动。

Lust 联想为 “Lost”。当一个人充满了 lust(欲望)时,他往往会 lost(迷失)自己的理智。
