Lukewarm

Lukewarm

  1. “I hate drinking lukewarm coffee; it should be either hot or iced.”
  2. “The new movie received only a lukewarm response from critics.”
  3. “His interest in the project seemed lukewarm at best.”

Luke(微温)+ Warm(暖)= 不冷不热。

Jane spent all day cooking a grand dinner for her guests. However, she talked too much and forgot to serve it. By the time the food reached the table, it was lukewarm. The guests’ reaction to the meal was also lukewarm, as they were too hungry and disappointed to be polite.
