Kneading

“Kneading” 最常见指揉面团使其筋道、排气,如 kneading bread dough(揉面包面团);也可指按摩肌肉或揉捏黏土,如 kneading sore shoulders(揉酸痛的肩膀)。

  1. “She is kneading the dough until it feels smooth and elastic.” (她正在揉面,直到面团光滑有弹性。)
  2. “Kneading the clay helped the students shape their first pottery bowl.” (揉捏黏土帮学生们做出了第一个陶碗。)

“Knead” 源自古英语 cnedan,与德语 kneten(揉)同源,属日耳曼语族固有词汇,与 “knot”(结)有远古联系——揉捏即把材料缠结在一起。

“-ing” 表示正在进行的揉捏动作;kneading 亦可作名词,如 bread kneading(揉面过程)。

在家烘焙与面点文化中,“kneading” 是核心步骤;猫踩奶(kneading with paws)也用同一词,因其动作与揉面相似。
