Jab

  1. “He gave me a sharp jab in the ribs with his elbow.”
  2. “In boxing, the jab is the most used punch to keep the opponent at a distance.”
  3. “Have you had your flu jab yet?”

“The boxer knew his opponent was strong, so he didn’t try to win with one big punch. Instead, he used his jab. Every few seconds, he would deliver a quick jab to the other man’s face. By the tenth round, those small jabs had won him the entire match.”
