Inheritor

  1. “He was the sole inheritor of his grandfather’s vast estate.”
  2. “We are the inheritors of a rich cultural tradition.”
  3. “The young scientist saw himself as the inheritor of his mentor’s research.”

in + herit (继承) + or (人) = 继承人。

“The old library was closing. Mr. Green, the librarian, gave his favorite book to a young boy named Leo. ‘You are the inheritor of these stories now,’ he said. Leo promised to read and keep them safe forever.”
