Assuming
“Assuming” 来自 assume(承担、假定)。
- “Assuming the weather is fine, we will hike on Saturday.”
- “You are assuming too much without checking the data.”
- “Assuming responsibility for the mistake, she apologized to the team.”
assume 来自拉丁语 assumere(ad- 向 + sumere 取),原义“取走、承担”,引申为“采纳某种前提”。
as-(ad- 变体)+ sume(取)+ -ing;assuming that 为固定连词结构。
Assuming we agree on price…
“Assuming the flight lands on time, they planned to go straight to the hotel without assuming the bags would arrive with them.”
