Assumed

未经证实就认为(assumed he was late)、接手职责(assumed office)、假装或摆出姿态(assumed a calm tone)。

  1. “I assumed the meeting was cancelled, but it still happened.”
  2. “She assumed the role of team lead in March.”
  3. “The report assumed stable energy prices throughout the year.”

as-(= ad- 向)+ sum(取)+ -ed;名词 assumption。

“Everyone assumed the project would fail, yet the team shipped on time.”
