Appointed

“Appointed” 指被正式委任到职位,如 “the newly appointed director”(新任命的主任)。也可指确定的时间或布置,如 “at the appointed hour”(在约定时刻)、“well-appointed room”(设施齐全的房间)。

“Appoint” 来自古法语 apointier,与 point(点、时刻)相关,本义为“指定到某一点/某位”。

ap-(向)+ point(点)+ -ed:名词 appointment(任命、约会);无复杂后缀。

政府与 corporate press release 常用 “appointed CEO”;历史 “appointed officials” 与民选官员对比;酒店 “appointed” 形容装修配置。
